Pricing gains accelerate on tightening supply and signs of improved demand for Q2 2020: Ferro-silicon Highlights


Chinese export prices have also improved in line with domestic prices, up almost 9% in February. Malaysian and Russian suppliers subsequently pushed up their ferro-silicon offer prices to more than $1,200 per tonne.

The Chinese ferro-silicon spot market has been consolidating gains made through February, with major alloy producers holding their offer prices at 6,800 yuan ($966) per tonne. Higher prices have been supported on firmer demand prompted by coronavirus-related raw material delivery disruptions and transportation difficulties.
