Chinese prices reverse losses, may help US market maintain pricing floor: Ferro-silicon Highlights

Chinese ferro-silicon export prices are stable at $1,170-1,200 per tonne, while most offer prices are being reported at $1,200 per tonne.

In China, the ferro-silicon market has reversed a run of losses since mid-December. Previous heavy selling from around the Christmas holidays until mid-January has suddenly stopped, with a small bounce in prices seen most recently. The Chinese ferro-silicon ex-works price, basis 75% Si, was assessed at 6,300-6,400 ($930-944) yuan per tonne. Some smaller ferro-silicon producers are now restarting production, keen to cash in on the higher prices.
