European scrap markets end year on sour note with lack of Turkish sales: Europe Market Analysis

Fastmarkets MB’s price for Northern Europe origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) fell 8.4% month-on-month to a December average of $298.51 per with Turkish mills and scrap merchants unable to agree prices.

German domestic scrap prices have again outperformed those in the UK. German domestic ferrous scrap prices dropped €10 ($11) per tonne on grade E3 in December, while E8 prices were unchanged. Meanwhile, UK monthly prices for December registered a fall of £20 ($25) amid a drop in export prices.
