Prices largely unchanged: Middle East and North Africa Market Analysis


Saudi Aramco’s In-Kingdom Total Value Added (IKTVA) programme is increasingly driving procurement decisions for the company.

Welded linepipe imports to the United Arab Emirates have stayed largely stable over the past month on limited business activity. Prices for ERW linepipe in the 8”-24” OD size range from South Korea are $735-755/tonne cfr Jebel Ali. API 5L Grade B SSAW linepipe from the same source at 26”-30” OD are $925-960/tonne cfr. But activity has been muted with some uncertainty on the outlook for price development after Chinese New Year and extended closures curbing speculative buying. Locally-produced 42” non-sour X65 LSAW is quoted at $960-980/tonne ex-works while offers of API 5L X42 ERW linepipe are $750-760/tonne ex-works.
