Upward momentum maintained in China and Europe: Silicon Metal Highlights

Chinese silicon metal export prices increased in January amid higher offer prices and improved buying interest. Chinese exporters increased their offer prices by $20-30 per tonne given the appreciation of the yuan versus the dollar and tight spot supply. The export market price jumped during January, with offer prices as high as $1,560-1,570 per tonne fob. The latest Fastmarkets’ assessment price was $1,510-1,560 per tonne fob, up from $1,480-1,520 per tonne last month. ...
