Japanese extrusion output slips: Asian and Middle Eastern Market Analysis - Extrusions
In Japan, the production of extrusions has slipped in early 2018, falling by 1.1% yoy in the January-February period, to 124.1kt (-1.5kt).
Asian billet upcharge shows less volatility than other regions
The upcharge on billet paid by Asian extruders has edged up over the past few weeks, but by far less than in other region. In fact Asian extruders have very little reliance on Russian origin material, instead opting from suppliers from Malaysia, Vietnam and the Middle East. Although the all in billet premium is moving higher on the back of the higher tone to p1020 premiums.
