European price rises likely to pause in February: Scrap Highlights
Turkey has continued to encourage scrap price rises across the globe, but first signs of weakness emerged in the European scrap market by mid-January
European domestic ferrous scrap prices rose for a third month in a row. January settlements saw scrap prices rise in both Northern and Southern Europe. For HMS grade equivalent, E3 prices went up by 10 ($12) month on month in Germany to 287.50 per tonne delivered and by 15 in Italy to 300 per tonne delivered. For prime grades, E8 prices increased by 7.50 to 287.50 per tonne delivered across Germany and by 12.50 to 320 per tonne delivered across Italy, according to Metal Bulletin. This is the first time...
