Increasing raw material prices are a reason for mills not reducing prices at a larger rate.

as mentioned above, mills are this month placing the blame on high raw material costs as a direct reason why they are unable to lower prices to what the current market situation would suggest it should be. A large integrated mill in India have also suggested that an increase in HR coil prices are also forcing CR coil and HDG producers to either raise prices (which is what has happened in India) or hold prices at their current level, a level that has been rejected by the market for almost two months.

The question is - What increase in HR coil prices? Global HR coil price have arguable felt the brunt of the economic problems being seen in many parts of the world and has fallen substantially, especially in recent months.
