US galvanised buyers still not convinced of price hikes: American Market Highlights

Prices should be falling but, the opposite is happening across all of the steel markets in the USA.

Last month MBR commented about the intention of mills to raise the prices of galvanised material as well as those who already had, it has become clear that US mills have all unanimously decided to increase prices. In a sheep-like pricing strategy one mill after another hiked up prices, which led MBR to increase US domestic prices by $40/tonne.
Although prices have been raised, it still remains a price increase on paper as buying activity has not increased as buyers become more concerned with US and European debt issues.
