Chinese HDG prices increase: Asian Market Highlights

The rise in Chinese substrate costs has been steady over the month.

Chinese HDG steel prices have been increasing slowly but steadily since the end of April. Export offers for 1mm HDG are standing at up to $889/tonne FOB with transactions likely to be concluded some $10-20/tonne below this level, raising hopes that contract prices for June-July will increase too. Contract prices are at $820/tonne FOB for the same grade material. The rise in substrate costs has been equally steady over the past month as raw material prices maintain their cost push on semi and finished steel.
