Prices marked up steadily: American Market Highlights


We expect prices could climb by another $100/ton by the middle to end of the fourth quarter.

HDG base prices were $620/ton ($685/tonne) for September sales, but these are now all sold out. Mills are quoting a base price of $660/ton ($725/tonne) for October deliveries with a transaction price of $720/ton ($795/tonne) for 1mm G90. On the West Coast, CSI and USS-Posco have also increased prices with ex-works to around $760/ton ($840/tonne) for October in line with the Midwest price plus around $40/ton for freight, as Midwest suppliers remain active.
