US scrap prices poised to rise in March on tighter supply: North America Market Analysis


Static local markets and buoyant export rates have made exporting scrap more appealing to US sellers.

US HMS and shredded prices held stable in the most recent US monthly settlements, while prime prices fell. Higher export demand and wintry weather in areas such as the US Midwest had a fairly limited impact on the market for February, but we expect them to exert more influence on March prices.
