According to the latest data from the International Aluminium Institute (IAI), global primary aluminium production was 5.3 million tonnes in January 2019, or 171,100 tonnes per day (tpd), down 3.5% from December’s 177,400 tpd and down 1.0% from last January’s 172,900 tpd.
