The CIS pig iron market may turn: CIS Market Analysis

Pig iron prices have followed the downtrend since early November declining by $45 over the period on a weekly basis.

Prices for CIS-origin merchant pig iron (MPI) have continued to decline through January but the downtrend is likely to be over. With scrap prices dropping month on month in January settlements in both the United States and across Europe, CIS pig iron prices have dropped to $325 per tonne fob in the Black Sea by mid-January, on a weekly basis, the lowest level since the first half of July, 2017.
