Nickel: Recovery has begun

In last week’s report, we said that the slide in nickel prices had gone far enough. This call was based heavily on our technical analysis and we were looking for the G20 meeting in Argentina at the weekend to provide a catalyst for a rebound. As it turned out, things have gone pretty much as we expected and we are now looking for prices make further progress towards $12,000 per tonne this month.

Stainless perspective: 2018 a tale of two halves We published our latest Stainless Steels Market Tracker this week and noted how to anyone that last looked at global stainless markets 12 months ago, things would appear to have changed little in terms of pricing. Both chrome and nickel prices are at roughly similar levels and thus so too are stainless steel prices.
