European APT prices buoyed as Chinese environmental inspections tighten supply: Tungsten Highlights


A new round of Chinese environmental inspections has stoked fears that output in major Chinese APT production hub Jiangxi province will be constricted, adding to the scarcity in the flow of material heading to Europe.

European ammonium paratungstate prices rose at the end of April to the highest levels seen since November 2014 with supplies of the material throttled by environmental inspections in China. That supply-side tightness trumped the low demand which had placed downward pressure on European APT prices from late March until mid-April.
