After a period of weakening prices, most base metals have begun to look a little more stable over the past week or so.

Aluminium: Holding up well
Aluminium prices are holding up relatively well. Although recent economic data has been weaker and the base metals complex has been under pressure generally, we believe there is still a bullish undercurrent in aluminium due to LME stocks falling at a faster pace and expectations of supply cuts looming later in the year. Also, a rebound in oil and more talk of China financing major infrastructure projects may be enough to halt the overall downward trends of late.
