US prices continue to rise, outlook for 2017 is bright: Vanadium Highlights


In contrast to the modest decline in European prices, US ferro-vanadium prices continue to strengthen, with prices rising to $11.00-11.50/lb in mid-December, up from $10.90-11.50/lb last month.

European ferro-vanadium prices are slipping as the end of the year approaches, with evidence of producer destocking and trader profit taking pressing prices lower. As suppliers seek to reduce inventories for the year-end, producers and traders are happily cutting prices slightly to move material. Price cuts have been modest, with European ferro-vanadium prices remaining well above levels recorded earlier this year.
