Tighter supply availability drives iron ore price higher: Iron Ore Market Analysis


Major seaborne benchmarks have once again surged; this time to an 11-week high of $45.73/t on Friday 5th February.

Chinese mill restocking activity ahead of the Chinese New Year holidays during the week commencing 8th February drove major 62% iron ore benchmarks from a record low of $39.30/t, CFR Qingdao, on 11th December 2015, to an almost six-week high of $44.37/t, on the same basis, on 4th January.
