Ukrainian producers suffer persistent disruptions: Iron Metallics Market Analysis
Increases in Ukrainian pig iron output in July were predominately attributable to elevated production from the Illyich and Alchevsk facilities, yet both facilities remain highly susceptible to raw material shortages.
Ukrainian merchant pig iron output rose 41% month-on-month in July reaching 160kt. In fact, despite several facilities raising output, those particularly in the east of Ukraine remain highly vulnerable to output disruptions owing to inconsistent supplies of raw materials. More pertinently, output remains 38% down y/y over the first seven months of 2015, as facilities have struggled to maintain consistent production levels.
