Trading activity on the Baltic Dry shipping markets stabilised through the week, after declining in mid-November, owing to firmer trading activity, as some shippers have begun to clear stocks over the remainder of the year. In fact, the Baltic Dry Index (BDI) and Baltic Capesize Index (BCI) increased by 5.4% and 3.7% week-on-week basis, respectively. Meanwhile, MBR understands that the Atlantic Capesize Index was little-changed on a weekly basis. That said, fronthaul rates fell weakened modestly on a week-on-week basis, while Transatlantic round voyage rates were unchanged at $6,500/day.
