Masked intruders block entrances at Ukraines Zaporizhstal. Masked intruders have blocked all entry points to Metinvests Zaporizhstal Iron & Steel Works, halting raw materials deliveries and stopping workers from entering the site, the Ukrainian company said on Wednesday October 15. Between 100 and 150 men wearing masks blocked the main entrances of the 4.2 million tpy mill on today, preventing both employees and contractors from getting to their workplaces and halting deliveries of raw materials and equipment to the site, Metinvest said.
Polands Huta Czestochowa to relaunch meltshop to replace Ukraine slab. Polands Huta Czestochowa, owned by Ukraines Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), will relaunch an electric arc furnace (EAF) to make up for a lack of slabs from Ukraine, sources told Steel First on October 20.
