Aluminium prices hold up well: Market Summary and Analysis


Physical premiums continue to climb last week, at least outside the US that saw premiums reached record levels the previous week.

Aluminium prices held up relatively well last week - they did drop below the $1,900/tonne level on Thursday during a generally weak market, but they managed to close back above $1,900/tonne, thereby avoiding the weakness seen in other metals that broke below their September lows last week.

Premium continues to rise

Physical premiums continue to climb last week, at least outside the US that saw premiums reached record levels the previous week. Last week saw European premiums catch-up in that they set record highs and Asia followed suit too. There seems no stopping the upward track...
