Chinese New Year brought raw materials activity to a near halt this week: Latest Analysis


MBR expects scrap activity to pick up in coming weeks as Chinese merchants return to the market.

With US prices now stable for the month and markets well-supplied in Europe, the Chinese New Year brought raw materials activity to a near halt this week. As a result, the MBR Steel Raw Materials Index barely changed from last week, while the Global Steel Index registered a decline of more than 0.7%.
