Prices for Venezuelan HBI gain upward support from a rise in US domestic scrap prices: Iron Metallics Highlights
Uptick in US domestic scrap prices has allowed HBI produces to raise US export price offers.
Venezuelan HBI prices increased 3.3% week-on-week, as prices gained support from higher US domestic scrap prices this month. Throughout July 2012, pig iron prices were in line with price levels last seen in the fourth quarter 2010, as steep US domestic scrap price cuts during June-July 2012 echoed through the market.
