Gazprom announces that Gryazovets-Vyborg gas pipeline construction is underway: Europe, Middle East and Africa Market Analysis


Purchasing activity for HR coil in Russia is expected to slow down over the next few months, until an expected revival in Q3.

In mid-April, Gazprom announced that a project to extend the Gryazovets-Vyborg gas pipeline is in full swing, as construction of the roughly 700 kilometre looping system is underway. According to their press release, nearly 626km have been welded with 82% of these pipes buried. The Gryazovets-Vyborg pipeline is an important step in increasing gas supplies in northwestern Russia. The pipeline is one of the many series of pipelines that will transport gas from Yamal. The total network of pipelines used for Yamal gas transmission, upon completion, is estimated to be close to 2,500km. At the moment, the Gryazovets-Vyborg pipeline section, around 900km and a design capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas, supplies Nord Stream with gas.
