Chinese chrome ore imports rose in 2011, while ferro-chrome imports declined: Ferro-alloy Highlights
China looks to increase domestic ferro-chrome production through boosting imports of chrome ore, and in turn, becoming less dependent on imported ferro-chrome.
Chinese ferro-chrome imports increased by 9% year-on-year in 2011 to 9.4m tonnes, while the nations imports of high-carbon ferro-chrome/charge chrome slipped by 1.4% to 1.8m tonnes.
