US prices are likely to increase through January: Vanadium Highlights


European prices continue to struggle as steelmakers hold operating rates down.

US prices have not fared as badly as those in Europe, with ferro-vanadium trading at $29.76/kg, prices are similar to those seen in February 2011. As the economy improves, we expect upward pressure on prices. Continued strengthening of the dollar against the euro will increase imports volumes, however, longer lead times for imported material will limit this effect.
