Central European mills abandon price hike attempts: European Market Highlights
Lead times have come in for most HDG products.
In central Europe, USS Kosice was unsuccessful in its attempts to get 750/tonne base for HDG for April sales and brought back its price to 715/tonne, although it may end up selling closer to 700/tonne in line with last month prices. That would put 1mm Z100 at around 760/tonne. ArcelorMittal into Poland and Czech Republic is reportedly willing to sell at or just above 700/tonne base, while Hungarian producer Dunaferr is also aggressively seeking business. Consumers on the distributor side are well-stocked and are willing (and able) to wait out mills.
