US market sees good demand going forward: Stainless Steel Market Analysis
Base prices for 304 2B 2mm CRC are now trading in the range of €1,100-1,200/tonne ($1,506-1,643/tonne) in Northern Europe with slightly weaker prices in Southern Europe averaging €1,105/tonne ($1,512/tonne).
US suppliers saw their order books start to fill at the beginning of 2011 with demand from end-users improving as mills began restocking after running down their inventories at the end of last year. Despite a slower than expected start to January, mills are now reporting strong orders for commodity and specialty grades.
