Molybdenum prices climbing despite Chinese holiday


Ferro-alloy market momentum has slowed with the onset of the Chinese New Year holiday celebrations. Prices are generally holding steady as the market awaits the return of Chinese buyers and sellers. A notable exception, however, is the molybdenum market, which remains active and is seeing upward momentum in prices continue.

With steelmakers ramping up capacity as the enjoy stronger demand from end users, both improved underlying demand and restocking activity, we expect to see higher demand and prices for ferro-alloys resume in mid-February. With ferro-alloy supplies...
