Seasonally weak demand undermines spot market prices: Global Tinplate Market Highlights
The start of the year tends to be a quiet time for the tinplate market.
The first quarter is traditionally the quietest period of the year for tinplate demand. Peaks in food packaging demand the largest source of end-use demand for tinplate tend to occur around harvest periods in the second and third quarters of the year. It is perhaps no surprise then that some of the spot market offers of tinplate Asia since the turn of the year are considerably lower than they were in late 2011.
