US scrap export prices are benefitting from greater demand from Turkey: Latest Analysis


Iron ore transactions are taking place this week at prices of $147-149/tonne CFR China for 63.5% Fe-content Indian material, a $12/tonne gain from last week.


MBR’s Steel Raw Materials Index was buffeted this week by strong gains in iron ore prices, regional increases in scrap prices as well as freight cost rises. An improvement in Chinese finished steel price sentiment is supporting price growth, while also limiting declines in the other raw materials. MBR remains concerned that this uptick will be short-lived and a significant recovery is still yet to come....
