What are the reasons for molybdenum's improvement?
China’s unprecedented levels of imports this year have been well documented, as has the fact that its exports have fallen. This implies that a much greater volume of molybdenum is inside China. There can be two possible reasons to explain this.
Molybdenum has been having a very good run lately. The price of ferro-molybdenum has risen in Europe every week since the end of May, and is now 50% higher than its low point in April. In the past few days it has finally crossed the $30/kg barrier, the highest it has been since the collapse of the molybdenum market in November....
