Europe pares gains: Silicon metal highlights
European silicon metal prices are weakening against very slow demand in the secondary aluminium sector.
In Europe, spot market prices for standard secondary aluminium-grade (98.5% grade) (5-5-3) silicon metal are at 1,600-1,650/tonne free on truck duty delivered paid, down from 1,700-1,850/tonne last month. Better grades of low iron content silicon metal (4-4-1) are at 1,730-1,780/tonne delivered duty paid.
