MBR understands that poor demand has forced certain CIS pig iron producers to exit the market. One Russian producer has stated that it would not return to the market until August, having sold out of material in early June at $250/tonne fob to east Asia.

A Ukrainian mill has also had no transactions since early June, when it sold material at $230-240/tonne fob...
