CIS, Turkish HR coil prices rise: Flat Product Analysis-CIS, Turkey, Middle East
While HR coil prices and buying activity in the CIS and Turkey increases, MBR is doubtful that it will be sustained.
CIS and Turkish coil prices have registered their largest month-on-month increase since mid-2008. While this is good news for local producers, the fact remains that these increases have largely been permitted by a general improvement in international pricing conditions rather than improving domestic market fundamentals. As Chinese and Indian domestic prices have risen over the last month, buyers in these markets are willing to consider paying more for CIS-origin HR coil and plate imports.
