Starting to look vulnerable: Zinc - Market analysis
Reduced demand is starting to hurt zinc and we have probably now seen the high for prices until Q4 or Q1 2010
Chinese customs data released yesterday showed that refined zinc imports were up 398% year-on-year in May to 95,631 tonnes, taking the year-to-date total to 412,239 tonnes, a 656% increase. Exports were down 100% in May and 88% in the January-May period, at 10 tonnes and 4,188 tonnes respectively. ...but falling back now...Net imports in the year to May were up 115%, but they have now slipped for two consecutive months...
